Heart of a champion

A champion is afraid of losing. Everyone else is afraid of winning - Billie Jean King

Anderson "The Spider" Silva faced his toughest challenge to date. Chael Sonnen gave The spider a run for his money. He did everything he said he would except for the win. He beat Silva down and gave him a fight that he has been wanting for a long time and a beating in some instances.

But why no victory? Its simple. He wasn't that good enough to beat Silva. He dominated the fight up to the point of him being submitted via triangle choke. What separates champions from challengers is that extra effort. That mindset of getting a win. That desire of not giving up.

A champion doesn't believe he or she is losing a fight but that he hasn't pushed the pace. Or that he hasn't played his game yet. Champions have two things that separates them from the pack and thats training and the heart.

A champion never gives up and never surrenders. A champion always believes he can win even if the odds are stacked against him. A champion always gives 110% in training. And a champion believes he is good enough to beat anyone.

A champion is someone who gets up when he can't. - Jack Dempsey
